And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.    – Mark 4:35 -37   There is something good and beautiful on the other side that made Jesus want his disciple to crossover to “the other side” with him. The devil knew that Jesus had a good plan for his disciples and so he did not want them to get to the other side. So, he caused a great storm to arise. His plan was to stop them from enjoying their purposed divine blessing. Thank God who by his superior power calmed the tempest of the sea. It takes just one successful strike by the enemy to destroy a man permanently. That would have been the story of Job if God hadn't been his fortress.
