  THEME: LET US CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE ( Mark 4:35-37 )     And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.    – Mark 4:35 -37   There is something good and beautiful on the other side that made Jesus want his disciple to crossover to “the other side” with him. The devil knew that Jesus had a good plan for his disciples and so he did not want them to get to the other side. So, he caused a great storm to arise. His plan was to stop them from enjoying their purposed divine blessing. Thank God who by his superior power calmed the tempest of the sea. As Christians, we often face challenges and obstacles that seem insurmountable. We may feel like we are fighting a losing battle against forces that are beyond our control. However, the Bible teaches us that we are not alone in this struggle. We have a powerful ally in Jesus Christ, who has given us the authority to deal with the principalities and powers that seek to oppose us. Understanding Principalities and Powers In Ephesians 6:12, the Apostle Paul writes, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Here, Paul is referring to the principalities and powers that operate in the spiritual realm. Principalities and powers are spiritual entities that have been given authority and power by God to operate in the world.
