Three Benefits Of Persistent Prayer

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. - Acts 12:5

Hello beloved child of God. Have you been wondering why you should continue in prayers even when it seems as though your prayers are not been answered. Praying continually concerning an issue is one clear way to tell God that you are fully dependent on Him. You are kind of telling Him, "I have no where or anyone else to turn to on this matter. You just have to do something. You are telling God that you are hopeless without Him.

The Bible in Acts 12:1-12 said the church prayed for Apostle Peter without ceasing. They kept reminding God that His servant Peter needs to be delivered from the prison. I don't know how long they persisted in prayers but I suspect they kept the prayer fire burning till Peter was released. We will see another story of the testimony that comes from persistent prayers in Daniel 10. The Bible says Daniel prayed and fasted for twenty-one days. One very important lesson from that story is that though the answer to Daniel's prayer was released by God on the first day he started praying, the angel conveying it was opposed by the demonic forces in-charge of Persia (Prince and Kings of Persia). So the angel couldn't get through to Daniel till after twenty-one days when God sent another angel to fight and free the initial one sent. Through persistence in prayer, Daniel gave God impression that he is serious about his request.

PRAYER IS TRANSFORMATIONAL

The Bible says in Luke 9:29-30 "And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias." As Jesus was praying, he became transformed. Beloved, because prayer brings us into fellowship with God, it is bound to bring us both spiritual and physical renewal. Organs of our body receives strength and transformations when we pray. The Bible reveals that they that wait on the Lord (pray consistently) shall renew their strength (Psalm 40:31). So, we will find new strength in God if we will cultivate the habit of praying always. When we pray, we grow in our relationship with God. When we pray, we receive more anointing.

PRAYER GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO SPIRITUAL LEGISLATION

In the place of prayer we get to participate in making decrees concerning what we want. We set boundaries for the devil and reverse unfavorable situations. We bind demons and liberate our miracles held up by the enemy. The church through prayer reversed the plan to kill Peter by Herod and Peter was miraculously saved from the prison. Through prayer, they broke Peter out of prison. You too can break your destiny and that of your family members out of every demonic prison today if only you will cultivate the habit of prayer.

PRAYER IS A WEAPON OF WARFARE

One of the greatest weapons God has availed us His children is prayer. On his knees, Daniel prayed and the demonic powers opposed to the liberation of Israel from captivity were discomfited. On her knees, Hannah fought and won the battle against forces that sealed her womb. Because they understood that the child that will come from that womb was going to be a great tool in God's hand, they never wanted Samuel to come. But Hannah beseeched heaven and got her victory. In prayer today, you can call forth your "Samuel".

There is no battle that is too strong for you to win on your knees. Arise now and begin to conquer grounds in the place of prayer. If there is a man the devil fears so much, it is that man who has made prayer his lifestyle.

Over the years, I can attest to the power and efficacy of prayers. I have seen God respond to my prayers even in situations that appear hopeless. Situations that can only be reversed by divine providence. Glory to God He responded to my prayers.

After 21 days persistent prayers, Daniel got his desired response from God. After several years, Hannah got her desired response from God. God will answer your prayers if you will persist.
