WINNING GOD'S HEART 4: A PERFECT HEART TOWARDS GOD

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him… – 2 Chronicles 16:9. The Bible referred to men after God’s heart as people whose heart is perfect towards God. Little wonder they are few. You could imagine that in the whole nation of Israel only a little boy was certified by heaven as a man after God's heart. What does it mean to have a perfect heart towards God?  In the words of Derek Prince, ―perfection toward God consists of a right attitude toward God and a right attitude toward evil. There is no neutrality in perfection toward God. You do not compromise with anything that is unpleasing to Him; you are absolutely committed to obedience—no matter what it costs. To have a perfect heart towards God means to have a heart that is blameless towards Him. Such a heart is one devoid of sin. It is a heart that has a right standing towards God and man. It is a heart that does not cheat on

DATE: MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER 2020. THEME: CAN GOD CHANGE HIS MIND? I  MEMORISE: And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and

WINNING GOD'S HEART (3)

Any believer who wants to enjoy a good relationship with God should be very interested in discovering what David did that endeared him to God’s heart. If David, a shepherd boy who spent most of his time in the wilderness taking care of his father’s flock successfully won God’s heart, then you too can win God’s heart. There are conditions set by God which must be met by anyone who wants to win His heart. Truth remains that God is not ready to change these conditions for any reason. The Bible reveals in 2 Timothy 2:19 that; …the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. You either meet the conditions or forget about winning His heart. The choice is yours. In our world today where there are too many blends and diverse teachings in the Christian faith, it is very important for every believer to know and understand this: God will never change the conditions for winning His he

WINNING GOD'S HEART (2)

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee – 1 Samuel 13:13-14  If you have meditatively read the above Bible passage before now, one question you must have possibly asked yourself is, “what qualified David to become a man after God’s heart?” Our God could not be lying. If He called David a man after His heart, then that is who David was. What should be of interest to us is to know how David qualified to become a man after God’s heart. Our anchor scripture in this chapter, 1 Samuel 13:13-14 reveals that those who are after God’s heart occupy a special place in His divine scheme. God knows them and they are

WINNING GOD'S HEART (1)

This article series is a product of my study on the topic, A Believer After God’s Heart with focus on King David. The study was intended for Bible Study in my local assembly. My discoveries on what made God boast of David as a man after His heart even when the same David was an unknown character prior to God declaring him a man after His heart, and how this can enrich a believer’s relationship with God is what the Holy Spirit has placed in my heart to share with you. The depth of what I discovered compelled me to author the book, Winning God’s Heart. David was only an unknown shepherd boy who spent most of his time in the wilderness. Though he had a rich spiritual life, he was unknown even to Samuel, the greatest prophet in the land. This tells us that there are so many people who possibly are secret spiritual giants. They are neither popular nor big time preachers but they are known to God. They probably have not travelled outside their villages for the first time but they are well ac
