Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And he said to me, "O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you." While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling. Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come." - Dan 10:10-14 (Emphasis mine).
The story in Daniel Chapter 10 opened my eyes to certain ignored truths about praying and receiving answers to prayers. Daniel, a man of impeccable integrity, diligence and faith in God prayed and God sent an angel with answers but he couldn’t get the answer till after twenty-one days. The angel before he could get to Daniel was arrested by a demonic force, the Prince of Persia in the terrestrial kingdom and handed over to the Kings of Persia who detained him. This delayed the answers which Daniel was expecting until an Archangel was sent by God to liberate the initial angel God sent. While still waiting to receive answers to his prayers, Daniel continued to fast for twenty one days till his answer came. He did not behave like the King of Israel who relented after shooting the ground thrice. He refused to stop praying till his answer came. He prayed until something positive happened in his favour.
Many Christians do not receive answers to their prayers because they stop praying when they shouldn’t. They get easily tired in the place of prayer. The powers of darkness often rob them of their patience and strength to wait on God and pray through to their answers. If you must get the kingdom of darkness off your prayers and your desired answer from heaven then you have to understudy this case in Daniel Chapter 10.
I am too sure that God will take you to the next level by the power of your prayers. He called you to pray because He is ready to give you all you will request for. May God help you not to faint anymore in the matters of prayer because your survival as a Christian depends on it.
It should be understood that at the time of the event described in the above scripture, Daniel was living in the land of Babylon where the children of Israel were in captivity after the fall of Jerusalem. He was praying to the Lord for the release of his people from their Babylonian captivity. One such prayers led to the event shared in the above scripture.
DEMONS ARE INTERESTED IN YOUR PRAYERS
The first thing that caught my attention was that demonic powers showed so much interest in the prayers of Daniel. What attracted the attention of the Prince of Persia to Daniel’s prayers? Nothing else but the subject of the prayer Daniel rendered to God – prayer for liberation from bondage. One obvious truth is that the devil is never willing to release anyone who is in his captivity. Deliverance for such a person must come by a mighty hand stronger than the devil (Exo 3:19). May the mighty hand of God break you out of every captivity today in Jesus’ name.
Another thing that caught my attention and I think should be of importance to anyone who has keen interest in receiving answers to his prayers is the fact that the Prince of Persia was strong enough to stop an angel from executing his divine assignment in the life of Daniel. If an angel could not deliver himself from the hold of the powers of darkness then you sure can’t deliver yourself from any demonic affliction and influence except God sends help to you. Be sure that God is very willing to help you. No matter the kind of captivity you find yourself in, God is able to and will deliver you if you will pray.
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob - Isa 49:24-26.
God will deliver you no matter what led to the captivity. All, you need do is to cry unto God in holiness and He will come with your needed help.
PRAYER WARFARE AGAINST THE PRINCE AND KINGS OF PERSIA
- Worship and praise God intensely in songs.
- Thank God for His power that is strong enough to destroy the powers of darkness working against your progress.
- Every evil spiritual king giving wicked instructions and orders against my life I command fire from heaven to roast you now in Jesus’ name.
- Father! Like You sent Your angel to fight for Daniel, send angels to fight the battles of my life against forces of darkness in Jesus’ name.
- Father! According to Your word in Psa. 91:10-11, give Your angels charge over my life to always carry me so that I will not hit my feet against any evil stone placed on my way by evil territorial powers fighting against my life in Jesus’ name.
- By the Blood of Jesus Christ I overcome the evil spiritual kings and princes of my village/community (mention the name of your community) - Rev. 12:11.
- By the Blood of Jesus Christ I overcome every evil and wicked spiritual kings and princes of this town (mention the name of the town especially if you are living in a foreign land) fighting against my progress - Rev. 12:11.
- Father! By Your thunder uproot every gate behind which the devil has kept everything he stole from me.
- I invade the storehouse of every spiritual king where my stolen blessings are kept and I overcome every strongman assigned to guard my stolen blessings. I command you lose your powers now in Jesus’ name.
- I invade the storehouse of every spiritual king where my stolen blessings are kept and take back everything that belongs to me now in Jesus’ name.
