For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace – Isaiah 9:6.
Wonderful is one of the names of our Lord Jesus Christ revealed in Isaiah 9:6, long before He was born. The word translated “wonderful” in that Bible text was taken from the Hebrew word nokrĂy, which means strange. In its true sense, Jesus is the strangest thing that ever happened on earth. His conception and birth was so strange that so many still find it difficult to believe his immaculate conception.
His decent into the realm of earth brought so much revolution and started the reconciliatory process between estranged man and God.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation – 2 Corinthians 5:18.
Wonderful means outstanding, amazing, excellent, fantastic, great, terrific, superb, brilliant, impressive, fine, first-class, out of this world, high quality, top quality, superior, deluxe, classy, morally good, virtuous, respectable, honorable upright and beyond reproach.
The truth is that our Lord Jesus surpasses every word used above to describe wonderful. He is the one by whom the whole world was made. John 1:3 says, “all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made”. That is how wonderful He is.
He is the one that has the power not only walk on stormy waters but to also commander storms and they hear Him and hold their peace. He is an embodiment of knowledge and wisdom and impacts same to as many that desire and ask Him.
He has the ultimate healing power. Diseases and sicknesses take to flight when they hear His voice.
Even death loses its power when it comes face to face with the one whose name is wonderful. It is in Him we live and have our being, He gives us power to make wealth; He gives direction; with Him you are sure to get to any pedestal in life. The best of it is that He never fails. Are you yet to make Him the wonderful Savior of your life do so today and embrace life?
Beloved, because you have identified with the One whose name is Wonderful, He will not cease in doing wonderful (outstanding, amazing, great, superior and excellent) things in your in Jesus name.
