Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south." - Psalms  126:1-4 For some days now, the Holy Spirit has laid the above Bible passage in my heart. Whenever that nudge comes from him, I clearly know that there is someone somewhere he wants to talk to on the subject of captivity.  There are some questions we will consider as we go on and they are; What is captivity? Zion in captivity? Why will Zion be in captivity? WHAT IS CAPTIVITY? Captivity refers to a state of being imprisoned or confined. The Bible referred to men after God’s heart as people whose heart is perfect towards God. Little wonder they are few. You could imagine that in the whole nation of Israel only a little boy was certified by heaven as a man after God's heart. What does it mean to have a perfect heart towards God?  In the words of Derek Prince, ―perfection toward God consists of a right attitude toward God and a right attitude toward evil. There is no neutrality in perfection toward God. You do not compromise with anything that is unpleasing to Him; you are absolutely committed to obedience—no matter what it costs. To have a perfect heart towards God means to have a heart that is blameless towards Him. Such a heart is one devoid of sin. It is a heart that has a right standing towards God and man. Any believer who wants to enjoy a good relationship with God should be very interested in discovering what David did that endeared him to God’s heart. If David, a shepherd boy who spent most of his time in the wilderness taking care of his father’s flock successfully won God’s heart, then you too can win God’s heart. There are conditions set by God which must be met by anyone who wants to win His heart. Truth remains that God is not ready to change these conditions for any reason. The Bible reveals in 2 Timothy 2:19 that; …the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. WHAT IS ANOINTING?  The word anointing can be defined from  3 standpoints: ordinary, ecclesiastical and official.  ORDINARY: Anointing in the ordinary sense is performed by pouring oil on the head or parts of the body. Anointing the body or head with oil was common with the Jews, many other Oriental nations. The angel that made the revelations to Daniel revealed to him and by extension to us that there are demonic powers that control every hamlet, community, society, state, etc that has a name or identity. So there are powers in-charge of everywhere on earth. In this case Persia, because that was where Daniel was living at that time. Buildings are mainly composed of foundation, walls and roof. THE FOUNDATION The foundation of a building bears and supports the weight of the entire building. The foundation of a Christian life is therefore very important. It is composed of the basic doctrines of salvation. The first set of messages/training you are given when you become born again.
